Boundaries are the interface between us and others and we can live better when we dare to set boundaries. Boundaries are also the interface between different parts of our internal lives – whether it’s
- between our desires and our challenges;
- between our mental, emotional and physical selves; or
- between the different phases of our days and our lives.
What happens when boundaries are flawed?
These interfaces can often present challenges – in our hearts, in our relationships, and in our physical being when tension manifests. The more difficult a circumstance is, the more we need to mind ourselves.
Where can I get help with my boundaries?
I began to explore boundaries most recently as part of an ongoing Live@Lunch series. This series offers insights and wisdom to the viewers – and to the co-hosts. There was a common thread between each of the talks: clarity and communication. Even as these wise ladies presented their own interpretations, each stressed the importance of clarity and communication.
The 30-minute talks were presented – some in the private Zoom rooms and some in the public space on social media. You might like to explore this issue with us – click here for a recap of the first three sessions. These are ongoing during the spring and summer of 2022.
How else can I get support for my boundaries?
Jin Shin Jyutsu can support you in your life – and with your boundaries. The energetic pathways that go through your thumb help you physically, emotionally, and mentally.
So, simply by holding your thumb, you can activate those energies to support yourself. These energies relate to your skin, and your digestion, and can help to ease worry too. Try it out for yourself – just gently hold your thumb for a few minutes. What do you notice? Is anything changing over time? Is there a difference between your right thumb and your left thumb?
Boundary points to ponder for your wellness
Taking time to explore your inner thoughts and feelings can help bring clarity. It’s when we bumble through our day on auto-pilot that we most often have difficulties. For example, when we’re not paying attention we can run into others – physically sometimes and through our words other times. So take a few moments to consider:
What boundaries are you setting?
How are boundaries showing up in your life?
Are your boundaries serving you?
Just a few points to ponder.
