How many times have we been tense, wound-up, a bit stuck?
The wind is blowing today here in Ireland, and the rain is on its way.
But I can cast my mind back to an afternoon when the weather was sunnier and brighter . . .
I stood by the riverside here in Maynooth and watched the water flow.
The water was moving quickly – much like life these days.
And there were spots where things (maybe stones or branches or other barriers) were getting in the way of the smooth flow of the water.
I would see our energy like that too. When our energy is flowing freely, we can move easily through our emotions and our challenges.
But when things get in the way, there are bumps in our lives – like the peaks in the river flow. These blockages can be long-standing or newly acquired. They can be affecting us emotionally, physically, and/or mentally. Often they might manifest as a sense of unease (or dis-ease) in the body. Sometimes they are a bit more entrenched, and we may even have a label from our doctor.
I started the Energy Flows Jin Shin Jyutsu practice to help the energy move more freely in my clients. The name Energy Flows also brings in the gentle nature of my practice. Jin Shin Jyutsu helps us to be in the flow of life
When I’m in a session with a client, the hand positions and sequences are called adjustment flows. These are sequences of 5-24 positions that help to bring harmony back to the body.
In an hour-long session, we generally spend time with 3-5 flows. And this leads to what I like to call Jin Shin Jyutsu bliss. My clients tell me that they feel lighter, refreshed, are more able to move freely, and are more grounded. There are many times when longstanding conditions are eased. Each person’s experience is different.
It’s interesting, though, that we often think that we’re getting along just fine. I remember talking to a dear lady who couldn’t imagine what she might come for help with. At the same time, there were things that were bothering her. She wasn’t sleeping well, and this had changed things in her life lately. This is an example where Jin Shin Jyutsu can help us to process challenges, help our bodies to function better, and help us more through life more freely. When we’re more in harmony, our life – like the water in the river – moves more freely. So, with Jin Shin Jyutsu, we can have more harmony and be more in the flow of life.
What might you need a bit of help with today?
